What are the responsibilities and job description for the MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III position at Palm Beach County?
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy, motor-driven earth-moving equipment such as backhoes/loaders, gradall, graders, steel rollers, and large tandem dump trucks in road construction and maintenance. May be temporarily assigned duties in another division/section during slack periods and/or perform additional related work as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the operation of heavy-duty earth-moving equipment.
PREFERENCE FOR: One (1) year of experience in road maintenance and asphalt repairs; experience operating backhoes/loaders, gradall, graders, steel rollers, tandem or construction dump trucks (must specify on application); valid FL Class A CDL.
SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class A CDL Permit with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class A CDL within 180 days of appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
