SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Valid FL Class B CDL at time of hire and must obtain Tanker Endorsement within 180 days of hire. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.

Directs, oversees, and participates in all elements and aspects of the maintenance and operation of a large-scale multi-discipline equestrian event show facility. Develops work schedules; coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs; communicates with the patrons regarding event requirements and general information. Directs the work of a crew of Motor Equipment Operators. Provides on-site direction; obtains effective and efficient performance from crew personnel in carrying out work assignments safely; complies with plans, instructions, and standard operating procedures. Work is performed independently within the limits of plans, instructions, and standard operating procedures under the general supervision of facility management. Work is reviewed through on-site inspections and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction, maintenance, athletic, park, golf, equestrian facility, or event preparation, including three (3) months of experience directing the work of others.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Using a computer for email, internet, and Microsoft Word; working around horses or other livestock; operating footing, dirt and/or turf equipment; sports grounds maintenance. Also desirable: Two (2) years of experience operating a tractor/drag/water truck (must specify on application); two (2) years of experience directing the work of maintenance and/or equipment operator crews.
