Charges and discharges materials to the public; registers borrowers; retrieves library and overdue materials; uses computers for bibliographic searching; resolves inquiries concerning the lending/borrowing of materials; advises the public of materials to meet reading needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours),
OR
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of one (1) year of college-level coursework (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library,
OR
Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a library.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a library circulation/member services section/bookstore,
- Experience handling cash,
- Experience using an automated circulation system (must specify system used on application),
- Knowledge of library self-service technology (must specify on application), and
- Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) (must specify on application).
