This paraprofessional position involves the circulation of library materials to members, including charging and discharging materials, registering members, assisting the public in locating materials, and shelving materials. The position includes readers’ advisory service, cash handling and reconciliation, interpretation of policies and procedures, and equipment maintenance. Responsible for assigned collection monitoring and maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours),

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of one (1) year of college-level coursework (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library,

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a library.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

Experience with public or customer service (must specify on application),
Experience providing assistance with self-service technology, and
Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
