SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must possess a FL Class B CDL Permit with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements at time of appointment and obtain a FL Class A or B CDL with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements within 180 days of appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.

Depending on assignment, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and various pieces of heavy equipment, skid steer loader, tractors, landscape maintenance equipment, and large trucks in excess of 26,001 pounds, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Duties may include, but are not limited to: Refuse collection, athletic field maintenance, grounds maintenance, transporting equipment via truck and trailer, equipment maintenance, assisting as needed to support daily park operations. Maintains landscaped areas and provides customer service within maintenance function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
Minimum of six (6) months of experience in the operation of large mobile or construction equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience operating a garbage truck/tractor/skid loader,
- Experience performing maintenance work using heavy construction equipment,
- Valid FL Class A CDL, and
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification.
