What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELECTRICIAN position at Palm Beach County?
Performs skilled work at the journey-level in the maintenance, installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience as a journey-level Electrician.
Necessary Special Requirement: Must possess a valid Palm Beach County (PBC)/FL Electrician's License OR Electrician's License from another state or municipality and ability to obtain a PBC/FL Electrician's License within 12 months of appointment (copy of License must be uploaded to online application within three [3] business days of application submittal).
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: High-voltage maintenance and/or power generation systems; computerized energy management/programmed logic controls/distribution controls; operating bucket trucks. Also desirable: Apprenticeship program training.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office background check prior to appointment.
