What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer, Athletics position at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
SUMMARY:
In support of the university's mission and objectives, the Athletics Volunteer serves in a supportive role to a designated coaching staff. Volunteers contribute to the development and success of PBA’s student-athletes within one of the university’s intercollegiate athletic programs, which compete at the highest level of NCAA Division II athletics in the Sunshine State Conference.
This role is typically by invitation only; applicants are directed by a member of the coaching staff to apply.
Volunteers typically assist with:
- Providing support to the coaching staff in the planning and execution of team activities.
- Assisting with the organization and supervision of practices, games, and events.
- Supporting the implementation of game strategies and team member preparation for competition.
- Encouraging and motivating student-athletes in accordance with the mission and values of PBA Athletics.
- Promoting a culture of teamwork, integrity, and excellence within the athletic program.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience working in Athletics.
- Demonstrated coaching experience and understanding of intercollegiate athletics.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to fostering student-athlete growth in alignment with the university’s Christ-centered mission.
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve.
