WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS TASK FORCE GENERAL MANAGER?

The Task Force Restaurant General Manager is a deployable restaurant leader who steps in across the Palisades restaurant portfolio when a property requires interim leadership. Coverage spans the Mosaic restaurant concepts, Piatti, Camp, and the Independent Restaurant Portfolio, and assignments are typically triggered by a General Manager vacancy, an extended leave, a new opening or repositioning, or a period of underperformance that warrants on-the-ground support.

During assignment, the Task Force GM operates with the same authority and accountability as a permanent GM and is responsible for short-term planning and day-to-day operation of the restaurant, including guest experience, financial performance, team culture, brand standards, and the relationships with the corporate team and the surrounding community. The role partners closely with the Executive Chef on each assignment and reports to the Senior Director of Restaurant Operations.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Working knowledge of all FOH and BOH management aspects of a full-service restaurant, including service standards, beverage program oversight, kitchen partnership, and event execution.
  • Strong financial fluency, including budget construction, P&L management, prime cost discipline, forecasting, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to read a restaurant quickly, identify the most material issues, and prioritize action under incomplete information.
  • High emotional steadiness and the ability to inherit teams in difficult moments without losing trust or pace.
  • Concept-agnostic operating instinct, with the discipline to honor each restaurant's standards rather than imposing a single playbook.
  • Strong written communication, including the ability to produce clear weekly updates and transition documents.
  • Ability to give and receive direct feedback and to make personnel decisions with appropriate documentation.
  • Willingness to work alongside the team on the floor when the operation requires it, with credibility in both the dining room and the kitchen.
  • Proficiency with modern restaurant systems, including POS platforms (Toast, Aloha, or comparable), reservations platforms (Resy, OpenTable, or Tock), and back-office tools (Restaurant365 or comparable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour law, with particular attention to tipped employee regulations.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential financial and personnel information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years of restaurant management experience in a full-service environment, with at least two years as a General Manager.
  • Experience managing a restaurant with three million dollars or more in annual revenue.
  • Food Handling Certification, Food Safety Certification, and Responsible Beverage Service or TIPS Certification, or the ability to obtain these within thirty days of assignment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to travel by air on short notice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-concept or multi-unit experience across distinct service models, ideally including both fine dining and high-volume operations.
  • Experience in Forbes Travel Guide rated or AAA Five Diamond environments.
  • Pre-opening or repositioning experience.
  • Familiarity with the Northern California, Sonoma, and Napa restaurant markets.
  • Conversational Spanish.
