Nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear, Pali Mountain is a 274-acre mountain retreat and conference center designed for groups of all types and sizes. Our spacious dining hall, meeting facilities, and lodging accommodations allow us to host groups of up to 700 guests while providing exceptional outdoor recreation and team-building experiences.
Position Summary
The Activity Specialist supports the Conference team by facilitating outdoor recreation, adventure, and group activities for guests. This role is responsible for ensuring activities are conducted safely, professionally, and in a manner that creates a positive and memorable experience for participants. Activity Specialists may assist with programs such as ropes courses, climbing activities, archery, paintball, team-building initiatives, and other recreational offerings.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Assist the Conference Team infacilitatingactivities such as ropes courses, climbing elements, archery, paintball, and other recreational programs.
- Ensure all activities are conductedin accordance withestablished safety procedures and operational standards.
- Train and instruct participants on proper safety techniques and equipment usage before and during activities.
- Monitor participants throughout activities to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Inspect activity areas and equipment before and after use and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Set up, organize, and store equipment and supplies needed for scheduled activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service andmaintaina positive, engaging environment for guests.
- Assistwith crowd management and participant supervision during activities and events.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidentsin accordance withcompany policies and procedures.
- Support other Conferencefunctions as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and engage groups of varying ages and sizes.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and provide clear instructions to participants.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry equipment for extended periods.
- Previousexperiencefacilitatingrecreational activities, camps, outdoor education, or guest services is preferred but notrequired.
Compensation
- $17.00 – $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Work Schedule
- Per Diem / Part-Time position.
- Hours vary based on business needs and scheduled events.
- Most shifts occur on Saturdays and Sundays, with occasional Friday shifts andadditionalopportunities during holiday periods, school breaks, and peak seasons.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
