The Corporate Bookkeeper is responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts
- Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents
- Preparing financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close is processed accurately and efficiently
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring compliance, filing reports
- Understanding of Tax Laws and Regulations
- Provide updates and reports to Management
- Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Administrative duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, staff accountant, or similar role
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with spreadsheets
- Highly organized, attentive, works with a sense of urgency
- Experience with financial data analysis and report generation
- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
- 3 years of bookkeeping experience preferred
- Accounts Receivable (AR)/Accounts Payable (A/P) experience required
- Financial reconciliation experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred.
