Entry-Level Dining Room Manager

Palazzo di Bocce is seeking an Entry-Level Dining Room Manager to help lead our front-of-house dining room team.

This position is ideal for someone with a couple of years of experience as a server, bartender, host, or other restaurant front-of-house position, or someone who has recently completed college or hospitality-related education and is ready to move into restaurant management.

This is not intended to be a position for a long-time industry veteran. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, restaurant awareness, communication skills, and willingness to learn and lead.

Palazzo di Bocce is a unique restaurant and entertainment facility featuring Italian dining, private events, bocce courts, banquets, and a high-volume guest experience. Our dining room team plays an important role in making sure guests feel welcome, service runs smoothly, and staff members are trained and supported.

We are looking for someone who can help create a professional, productive, and positive dining room environment.

Position Summary

The Dining Room Manager will help run front-of-house floor shifts, train and guide staff, follow up on daily duties, communicate policies and procedures, and ensure that guests receive friendly, responsive, and professional service.

This position includes a rotation of opening and closing responsibilities depending on business needs. The normal work week is Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 40–45 hours per week, with most shifts taking place in the afternoon and evening.

Most major holidays are off.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Run dining room floor shifts and help oversee front-of-house operations.
  • Ensure guests feel welcome and receive friendly, professional, and attentive service.
  • Speak with guests regularly and help create a comfortable, positive dining experience.
  • Train, coach, and follow up with servers, hosts, bartenders, and other front-of-house staff.
  • Help communicate and enforce restaurant policies, procedures, service standards, and training expectations.
  • Make sure staff members complete assigned duties before, during, and after each shift.
  • Help maintain service quality, cleanliness, organization, and productivity in the dining room.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor food and beverage service to ensure items are served according to restaurant standards.
  • Fill in where needed to support guest service and efficient operations.
  • Help create a positive and productive working environment.
  • Assist with cash handling, receipts, and closing procedures according to company policy.
  • Support employee development through continued training and feedback.
  • Help ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and labor standards.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, guests, and other managers.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Some restaurant experience, preferably as a server, bartender, host, shift lead, or similar front-of-house role.
  • Hospitality, restaurant, business, or management education is helpful but not required.
  • A willingness to learn restaurant management systems, policies, and leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A professional and friendly attitude with guests and staff.
  • The ability to give direction, follow up, and hold staff accountable.
  • Basic math and cash handling ability.
  • The ability to use or learn a restaurant point-of-sale system.
  • Good organization and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • The ability to bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, including afternoon and evening shifts.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
