What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wealth Management Client Advisor position at Palante Wealth Advisors?
Most financial advisors spend half their time prospecting and half their time scrambling to serve clients. We separated those functions so both can be done exceptionally well. We need someone who wants to own the second half — deeply. What This Role Actually IsYou’ll be the primary advisor for 150-200 client relationships (building to that over 3 years). Your clients have already decided to work with us. Your job is to make sure that decision pays off for the rest of their lives. That means:Leading quarterly and annual client meetings to review progress, adjust plans, and ensure they stay on trackExecuting plan implementation with precision: account transfers, beneficiary coordination, trust funding, custodian resolutionCoordinating across disciplines: working with our in-house legal team (Medina Law Group) to integrate estate planning, tax strategy, and wealth managementWhy This Model WorksOur Selling Advisors and marketing engine build your book. You’re not responsible for prospecting, seminars, or client acquisition. That frees you to do something rare in this industry: focus entirely on making existing clients successful. Managing 150-200 relationships with the depth we expect requires:Technical fluency across retirement income planning, tax optimization, estate coordination, and insuranceThe ability to lead client conversations with confidence and build long-term trustObsessive attention to detail because a missed RMD deadline or wrong beneficiary designation can devastate a familyProactive thinking (anticipating problems before clients know they have them)You’re the Right Fit If You:Have 3 years in financial services with demonstrated technical depth in retirement planningHold (or are actively pursuing) Series 65 and Life & Health licensesHave led client meetings before — you’re ready for relationship ownership, not observingUnderstand retirement income planning (not just portfolio management): withdrawal strategies, Social Security optimization, annuity mechanics, RMD rules, Roth conversionsWant to work where tax strategy and estate planning aren’t afterthoughts — they’re integrated from the startAre detail-oriented because you know a small mistake can derail a client’s retirementWould rather serve 150 families exceptionally than 300 families adequatelyWant hard problems to solve and high standards to meetYou’re Not the Right Fit If You:Think “holistic planning” just means asking about goals and picking model portfoliosAre uncomfortable with complexity (estate documents, trust coordination, multi-year tax planning)See this as a stepping stone rather than a careerWhat We ProvideCompensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary quarterly bonuses when team-based metrics are reached401(k) with matchMedical, dental, visionContinuing education support (CFP®, additional designations)Professional Development:Mentorship in sophisticated, integrated planning (you’ll actually learn, not just execute)Access to our Planning Advisor and Selling Advisor to understand how plans are designedTraining on Income Lab, Holistiplan, and our proprietary planning processRegular case study reviews to sharpen your technical skillsWork Environment:Mid-sized team (currently ~10, scaling to 15 over 3 years) with an aggressive growth trajectoryCulture focused on execution excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvementPennington, NJ office (we value in-person collaboration)Clients who have chosen to work with us and value what we doAbout Palante Wealth AdvisorsWe help pre-retirees and retirees plan for what we call a “Great Life” — a retirement where every day is great and keeps getting better. We believe the last third of life should be the best third. Our name “Palante” means “forward” — we’re focused on what’s ahead for our clients, not what’s behind them. We’re not the biggest firm.
