Essential Functions
- Manage daily coating/painting operations, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate staff, including scheduling, training, evaluating performance, and enforcing safety protocols.
- Develop and implement production plans aligned with customer demands and company goals.
- Maintain and repair coating/painting equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory, including ordering paint, materials, and supplies while controlling costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to coatings and painting processes.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products to detect defects and ensure adherence to standards.
- Communicate with clients (internal and external), suppliers, and other departments to coordinate workflows, resolve issues, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and reporting related to operations and labor. Responsible for the P&L of the operation. Participate in meetings such as project planning, safety briefings, quality control reviews, and client/vendor discussions.
- Experience: Several years in coating/painting operations or manufacturing, with supervisory or managerial experience preferred. Experience in business development a plus.
- Education: Degree in business, operations management, or a related technical field is a plus. Certifications like NACE or SSPC in coatings inspection are advantageous.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in coating techniques, paint mixing, equipment operation, and quality control.
- Leadership: Strong team management, recruiting, training, and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Safety Expertise: Knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations applicable to coating operations.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for coordinating with staff, clients, and suppliers.
