What are the responsibilities and job description for the Window Tint Technician (Growth Opportunity - XPEL Shop) position at Paint Defender?
Paint Defender is Montgomery’s premier XPEL facility. We are hiring a Window Tint Technician who knows the basics but wants to become a Master Installer.
You will work alongside our Lead Installer in a Veteran-Owned, high-end shop. Unlike volume shops where you just slap film on beaters, here you will learn precision techniques on luxury vehicles (Porsche, Tesla, etc.).
The Mission:
- Handle the Daily Drivers: You will be responsible for tinting sedans, trucks, and SUVs to keep the bay moving efficiently.
- Learn & Grow: You will receive mentorship on advanced skills: heat-shrinking difficult back glass, filing edges, and installing windshield tint.
- Quality First: We don’t rush. You will learn to prep glass properly to minimize contamination and deliver clean work.
- Support: Assist with shop prep, inventory, and vehicle intake/delivery.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1 years of professional tinting experience (You must be comfortable tinting door glass and standard rear windows).
- The "Sponge" Mentality: You must be willing to listen, learn, and drop "bad habits" from previous shops.
- Reliability: Valid Driver's License and a history of showing up on time.
- Tools: Personal hand tools are a plus, but we provide the major equipment (Plotters/Heat Guns).
The Pay & Perks:
- Pay: $18 - $22 /hour (With rapid raises as your skills improve).
- Schedule: Monday - Friday (Weekends Off).
- Career Path: We invest in our team. If you prove yourself, we will pay for XPEL certification training.
