Patient Relations & Community Outreach Coordinator
Medical Office – Clermont, FL
$20.00 per hour Performance Bonuses
Full-Time | Monday–Thursday
About the Position
An established medical office in Clermont is seeking a confident, personable and highly motivated Patient Relations & Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team.
This is a unique position combining patient relations, care plan presentations, hands-on patient support and community outreach. This is not primarily a front-desk or administrative position.
Approximately half of this position involves meeting one-on-one with patients to present and explain their recommended care plans. You will help patients understand the different components of their care, answer questions, discuss costs and payment options, and help them feel comfortable and confident in making decisions about moving forward.
The position also includes assisting our clinical team with hands-on patient care, developing relationships with patients throughout their time in our office, and helping maintain a warm and positive patient experience.
In addition, this person will represent our practice in the community through outreach programs, educational presentations and community events.
What We're Looking For
The most important qualification for this position is exceptional interpersonal ability.
We are looking for someone who is naturally comfortable with people—warm and engaging, but also confident, professional and self-directed. You should be able to connect easily with different personalities while having the maturity and judgment to know when to engage, when to listen and when to give someone space.
The ideal candidate:
- Is confident and comfortable meeting and speaking with new people
- Has excellent communication and listening skills
- Reads social cues well and builds rapport naturally
- Is comfortable guiding one-on-one conversations
- Can confidently discuss care plans, costs and payment options without being pushy
- Is comfortable helping patients make important decisions
- Is emotionally mature, dependable and self-directed
- Is comfortable speaking to groups and representing the practice at community events
- Takes initiative and works well as part of a small team
- Has a professional, positive presence with patients and coworkers
Responsibilities
- Meet individually with patients to present and explain recommended care plans
- Discuss the components of care, costs and available payment options
- Answer patient questions in a confident, compassionate and professional manner
- Follow up with prospective and current patients
- Build positive relationships with patients throughout their care
- Assist the clinical team with hands-on patient care and treatment flow
- Help maintain a welcoming and professional office environment
- Participate in community outreach and educational events
- Develop relationships with local organizations and communities
- Assist with presentations designed to introduce prospective patients to the practice
- Work closely with doctors, providers and other members of the care team
Experience
Previous healthcare experience is helpful, but outstanding communication, confidence and relationship-building skills are more important to us than having previously worked in a medical office.
Candidates with backgrounds in patient relations, treatment coordination, community relations, senior living, hospitality, membership services or consultative sales may be particularly well suited for this position.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time: Monday through Thursday
Starting pay: $20.00 per hour
Performance-based bonuses are available after completion of the training period.
Occasional attendance at off-site training or community events may be required. Approved work-related training and travel will be compensated in accordance with company policy.
The Person Who Will Succeed Here
This position is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys people, is comfortable taking initiative and doesn't need a script for every interaction. We want someone who can walk into a room, connect naturally with patients and coworkers, listen carefully and represent our medical office with warmth and confidence.
If that describes you, we would like to meet you.
