Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Position Overview
PAI Pharma is seeking a hands-on and driven Engineering Intern to support critical engineering initiatives during the 2026 summer shutdown period. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience working alongside engineering professionals on major system installations and facility upgrades within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to step out of the classroom and into steel-toed reality where systems get built, installed, and brought to life ⚙️
Key Responsibilities
• Support engineering teams during system installations and facility upgrades
• Assist with execution of projects during the 2026 site shutdown
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors on active projects
• Help review and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs)
• Observe and assist with equipment commissioning and startup activities
• Ensure work aligns with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Provide general project support, documentation, and coordination
Key Projects
Interns will gain exposure to high-impact engineering work, including:
• Installation of a new Clean-in-Place (CIP) water system
• Support for a new boiler installation
• Participation in USB line design, including SOP and work instruction development
Learning Objectives
Through this internship, the selected candidate will:
• Gain hands-on experience in industrial and pharmaceutical engineering systems
• Learn how large-scale facility upgrades and installations are planned and executed
• Develop an understanding of process utilities and manufacturing support systems
• Build experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Strengthen technical documentation and project coordination skills
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Strong interest in manufacturing, systems, or facility engineering
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and engage with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on technical experience
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments or engineering systems
