Job Title: Host / Hostess
Position Summary
As a Host/Hostess at Pagos, you are the first and last impression of the guest experience. You’ll greet guests with genuine hospitality, manage reservations and wait lists, coordinate seating flow with the service team, and help ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for every table.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly, creating a great first impression
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, wait lists, and guest notes/preferences
- Escort guests to tables and present menus as needed
- Communicate accurate wait times and handle guest concerns with professionalism
- Coordinate with servers, bussers, and managers to maintain balanced seating rotation
- Answer phones, assist with takeout order handoff (if applicable), and respond to basic guest questions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area
- Support the front-of-house team during peak periods (menus, water, light bussing as needed)
Qualifications & Skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused attitude
- Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle guest issues respectfully
- Basic math and cash handling skills (if needed)
- Experience with reservation systems is a plus, but not required
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
