Physician Assistant - Inpatient Medicine

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding aPhysician Assistant - Inpatient Medicinetothe group at NYC Health Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women's health.The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details:

• Will participate in our Women's Option clinic, including performing intakes or any surgical procedures.
• Elicit a detailed and accurate medical history, perform a complete physical examination, and record all pertinent data.
• Perform and/or interpret and/or order routine diagnostic studies including routine laboratory procedures, common radiological studies, and EKG tracings.
• Inform the supervising physician of all changes in the patients' conditions and pertinent diagnostic results.
• Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and insertion of intravenous lines.
• Under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing andcompletes pre-op tasks.
• Perform patient rounds, collect data, and write pertinent progress notes on charts.
• Refers to appropriate sub-specialty consultants.
• Counsels patients regarding physical and mental health, as well as provides patient information on nutrition, health promotion, pertinent health education and, if needed, continued care.
• Develop management plans in accordance with established protocols in conjunction with the Attending physician.

• Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant.
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA.
• Must be ACLS/BLS certified.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $131,127* - $174,836* based on 40-hour work week and years of State Licensure.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $144,239** - $192,319**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:
