Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Investor Relations will hold a highly visible and execution focused role during a pivotal period in the company evolution. This individual will be responsible for shaping and delivering a clear and differentiated investment narrative by translating complex scientific, clinical, and regulatory data into compelling messaging for institutional investors and sell side analysts. The role will act as a close partner to the CEO and CFO and will lead the full execution of the investor relations strategy. Main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Partner with the CEO and CFO to define and implement the investor relations strategy
- Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional investors, sell side analysts, and shareholders
- Own and continuously refine the investment thesis and equity story
- Lead day to day IR execution including earnings preparation, investor presentations, Q&A preparation, conferences, roadshows, and investor targeting
- Translate preclinical and clinical data, mechanisms of action, trial endpoints, statistical outcomes, safety profiles, and competitive positioning into clear investor focused messaging
- Support investor communications surrounding clinical readouts and regulatory milestones including submissions, advisory committees, and approvals
- Draft and coordinate scientific and financial content for investor decks, press releases, scripts, and IR website materials in alignment with finance, legal, and communications teams
- Build and maintain long term relationships with leading biotechnology investors and analysts
- Monitor peer companies, competitive landscape, clinical developments, regulatory changes, and sector trends
- Track analyst models, consensus expectations, and key valuation drivers, providing actionable insights to senior leadership
- Ensure all external communications comply with SEC and disclosure requirements including support for earnings releases and public filings
- Maintain ownership of IR infrastructure including website content, investor calendars, shareholder surveillance, and engagement analytics
- Support development of commercialization and launch related messaging in collaboration with commercial leadership
- Integrate scientific, clinical, financial, and commercial narratives into a cohesive and credible equity story
This is a pivotal role which requires regular travel to Europe, /- 50% of the time. When not traveling, part of the role can be HYBRID and there is an office close to Waltham, MA.
Profile
In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree
Advanced degree in some sort of Scientific field e.g. PhD, MD, or PharmD etc.
MBA or equivalent finance training strongly preferred, CFA a plus
7 or more years of relevant experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, or consulting within biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
Strong understanding of clinical trial design, biostatistics, and FDA and EMA regulatory pathways
Prior experience supporting public company disclosure and earnings cycles
Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical data to sophisticated investor audiences
Strong understanding of biotechnology valuation drivers
Executive presence with confidence engaging senior leadership and external stakeholders
High attention to detail with strong cross functional collaboration skills
Job Offer
