Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics on small engines and power equipment using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools
- Repair and overhaul small engines, including engine repair, electrical work, and mechanical systems repair
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot equipment issues through electrical diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes efficiently
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other specialized equipment to complete repairs accurately
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to maintain a safe work environment
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and maintenance procedures to enhance customer service experience
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or service technician experience with small engines or outdoor power equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of engine systems, electrical systems, and power generation systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical diagnostics and equipment repair
- Experience with diesel engine repair is a plus; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is advantageous
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic testing devices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling required for equipment maintenance tasks
