Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Small Engine Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse operations team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on company fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to keep equipment and vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines including generators, pressure washers, pumps, lawn equipment, and other gas-powered tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on company equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Conduct basic fleet maintenance including oil changes, brake service, battery replacement, filters, belts, and general inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failure.
- Maintain maintenance records for equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.
- Keep the maintenance area organized and maintain tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations staff to minimize equipment downtime.
- Order or request parts and supplies as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience working with small engines or mechanical repair.
- Experience performing basic vehicle maintenance on light- to medium-duty trucks or vans preferred.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs efficiently.
- Familiarity with gas and diesel engines preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, fuel systems, and hydraulics is a plus.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and common shop equipment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a warehouse/shop environment.
- Comfortable working with tools, mechanical parts, and shop equipment.
Preferred Skills
- Small engine certifications or vocational training.
- Experience maintaining commercial fleet vehicles.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
