Responsibilities
- Engage with customers through inside and outside sales efforts, building strong relationships to understand their renovation, remodeling, or construction needs
- Demonstrate product features through engaging product demos, lighting design consultations, and layout planning using tools like SketchUp or CAD software
- Assist clients with selecting hardware, fixtures, lighting solutions, and remodeling materials that meet their project specifications and aesthetic goals
- Upsell complementary products and services by identifying client needs during the sales process to maximize revenue opportunities
- Handle POS transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining organized stock levels and merchandising displays
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless store operations, including stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining a clean shopping environment
Skills
- Proven experience in outside sales, retail sales, or construction sales with a focus on high-end products or remodeling projects
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Knowledge of lighting design principles, interior layout design, and fixture selection for residential or commercial projects
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with construction processes such as renovation planning, remodeling techniques, maintenance procedures, and fixture installation
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for pricing estimates and retail math accuracy
- Customer service-oriented mindset with organizational skills to manage multiple client interactions efficiently
- Experience in merchandising products effectively within a retail environment to attract customers and boost sales
