The successful Janitor maintains the cleanliness of all communal spaces, restrooms and office space, including wash, wax and buff areas on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, as necessary. Empty trash receptacles on a daily basis; inspect outside areas around the hangar and remove trash as necessary. Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed within the job classification. Janitor duties include, but are not limited to, the following: On a daily basis - maintain the cleanliness of all communal spaces; maintain the cleanliness of all restroom spaces, this includes daily replenishment of soap, paper products, and removal of all trash; maintain the cleanliness of all office spaces, consisting of sweeping, mopping, buffing the floor, emptying trash/recycling/ shredding receptacles and dusting the furniture. On a weekly basis - sweep, scrub, wax and buff the floors. Wash the walls a minimum of once a quarter. Outside areas will be inspected and trash will be picked up as necessary. Clean door tracks and other designated areas in the hangar. Relocate furniture as required. Maintain cleanliness of the assigned work area. Maintain records and inventory of cleaning supplies and prepare lists of supplies to be purchased. Adhere to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations. Adhere to the Company Tool Control Program. Comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations, as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment. Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished. Pursuant to the provisions of the specific CBA and at the discretion of management, may be requested to perform the duties of Lead Person. Assist when directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment. Working Environment: The diversity of working conditions may range from standard shop type environment where there is no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work where high noise hazards prevail; may be required to wear protective clothing and other safety equipment; may be required to handle hazardous materials and chemicals; frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals or risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to high precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold/heat and explosives. Occasional risk of radiation or vibration. Minimum Requirements One year of experience performing janitorial functions as described in the essential duties and responsibilities above. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language. Must have a valid state driver’s license Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Previous Military must present Member 4 DD214 with Honorable Discharge Must have high school diploma, or equivalent. Must be able work all assigned shifts & schedules Preferred Qualifications While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May be required to use/ handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
