What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer - WMATA position at PACO Group?
To support WMATA’s modernization documentation needs, PACO Group is recruiting a Technical Writer who will produce clear, concise engineering reports, standard operating procedures, and presentation materials. Your work will ensure that WMATA’s maintenance strategies and modernization plans are thoroughly documented and easily understood by both technical and executive audiences.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and edit engineering reports, manuals, SOPs, and presentations
- Coordinate with engineers and subject-matter experts to gather technical content
- Ensure all documentation meets WMATA branding and quality standards
- Maintain version control and document archives in a central repository
- Assist in preparing bid/contract deliverables and grant-funding applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Technical Communication, Engineering, or related field
- 5 years’ experience writing for engineering or transit-infrastructure audiences
- Exceptional command of English grammar, formatting, and style guides
- Proficiency with MS Word, InDesign, and document-management tools
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear prose
