About the Company
PACO Group is seeking two Senior Financial Data Analysts (SFDS) to support the PANYNJ-Engineering Financial Services Budget team. The SFDS will review and analyze monthly the department’s financial performance; help prepare the annual budget for the Capital, Operating and overhead funded programs; prepare and coordinate monthly the department’s consultant accruals by verifying supporting documentation related to the Purchase Order; analyze month end postings for accuracy and financial variances; prepare and submit charge code reclassifications; research and prepare ad hoc project data reports; validate adherence to charge code guidelines for all construction and consultant expenditures; prepare and track the department’s deferred projects and corresponding amortization schedules.
About the Role
The Senior Financial Data Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze monthly the department’s financial performance
- Help prepare the annual budget for the Capital, Operating and overhead funded programs
- Prepare and coordinate monthly the department’s consultant accruals by verifying supporting documentation related to the Purchase Order
- Analyze month end postings for accuracy and financial variances
- Prepare and submit charge code reclassifications
- Research and prepare ad hoc project data reports
- Validate adherence to charge code guidelines for all construction and consultant expenditures
- Prepare and track the department’s deferred projects and corresponding amortization schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in complex financial analysis and reporting, budget forecasting and data analysis within a large organization
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to SharePoint, Lists, etc.)
- Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros/VBA, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience using SAP financial modules, Peoplesoft, Oracle Essbase and Hyperion with SmartView software applications
- Ability to reconcile financial data
- Ability to work with large datasets
- Knowledge of GASB accounting principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience working independently
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies
- Must be a team player
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry is a plus
Pay range and compensation package
The good-faith hourly pay range for this position is $80-$95 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and client requirements.
