Position Scope
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for our employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting the accounting team with various financial and administrative tasks.
Location & Travel: This is a remote position. Preference will be given to candidates in Minnesota.

Compensation $60,000-$85,000/ year, commensurate with experience

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly payroll for multiple companies.
- Process wage garnishments and child support orders in compliance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports.
- Ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing for projects subject to prevailing wage requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, concerns, and discrepancies.
- Submit payment and file multi-state withholding and unemployment taxes accurately and on time.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance standards.
- Prepare all quarterly and yearend tax reports (ie: 941, W-2’s, ACA 1095-C)
- Maintain and document all payroll records with precision and confidentiality.
- Track and deduct optional supplemental benefits as requested by employees.
- Assist with other accounting functions and special initiatives as directed within the department.
- Review and audit daily timesheets.
- Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with payroll systems is a plus.
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the goal of zero injuries.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
