Job Summary
DEFINITION: The Supervisor of Maintenance Operations and Bond Construction is a leadership position responsible for the comprehensive management of the District’s physical assets. This role serves as the primary authority over the Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation (MOT) departments while simultaneously directing all bond-funded modernization and new construction programs. The Manager of Facilities, Bonds, and Construction Projects ensures that Pacifica School District facilities provide a safe, high-quality, and equitable learning environment through effective long-term planning, fiscal stewardship of bond funds, and high-productivity maintenance operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in public school facilities planning, maintenance, and bond-funded construction. • Preferred Credentials: Completion of the CASH Maintenance & Operations Leadership Academy or a valid California Contractor’s License/Professional Engineer license is highly desirable. Required Clearances • Valid California Driver’s License. • Department of Justice and FBI Fingerprint Clearance. • Negative Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: • Deep knowledge of Proposition 39 bond administration, state school facility funding processes, and school construction safety orders. • Ability to accurately estimate time and material costs, read complex blueprints, and negotiate change orders. • Skilled in using project management software, work order systems, and data-driven reporting tools. • Apply strong leadership skills coupled with effectively working as part of a leadership team. • Work effectively with Trustees, administrators, teachers, parents and other staff members.
