Job Summary
Basic Function The Middle School Assistant Principal will, under the direction of the Principal, provide leadership in all aspects of the school’s operation. The Middle School Assistant Principal will assist with the development and implementation of a wide range of student activities and services. Accountable for improving student achievement and positive social-emotional development for all students with special attention on improving student achievement of Students with Special Needs and the district targeted populations: English Learners, Socio-economically Disadvantaged and Foster Youth through the effective management of assigned areas; develop and implement a guidance and counseling advisory program in support of student learning at grade level and beyond; provide for academic guidance, discipline, counseling and referrals to assist students to stay in school on target for promotion; provide data management and analysis of school level data on a routine basis in order to drive instruction and support for a positive and safe school culture for student success; administer tests.

To ensure that equity is the intentional result of district decisions, the Board shall consider whether its decisions address the needs of students from racial, ethnic, and indigent communities and remedy the inequities that such communities experienced in the context of a history of exclusion, discrimination, and segregation. Board decisions shall not rely on biased or stereotypical assumptions about any particular group of students. Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: five years of teaching experience (middle school experience preferred); demonstrates expertise in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment; demonstrates experience in human resources; demonstrates fiscal responsibility. Licenses and Other Requirements: Valid California Administrative Services Credential; Valid California Teaching Credential; Valid California driver’s license Completed online application Cover letter/Letter of Introduction Resume Three (3) letters of recommendation(current within the last 2 years) Copy of credential(s) and transcripts
