POSITION TITLE: Product Development & Commercialization Manager
LOCATION: Headquarters is in Glendale, CA | Hybrid schedule, 4 days per week in office
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a Product Development & Commercialization Manager that will be responsible for the development and management of beauty tools, accessories, and adjacent personal care products across both owned brands and private label partnerships.
Reporting to the Director of Product Development, this role partners closely with our cross-functional Supply Chain and Operations teams from concept through commercialization to deliver commercially viable, functional products.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building products through thoughtful execution, problem-solving and curiosity; is comfortable adapting to evolving project and customer needs, and is motivated by the opportunity to create structure, improve ways of working, and make a meaningful impact across the development and commercialization functions.
The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of independence in day-to-day execution and will be responsible for multiple development and commercialization workstreams, while collaborating closely across teams to bring clarity, momentum, and consistency to product development and the product life-cycle process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all phases of NPD projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met and aligned with overall business strategies and priorities.
- Contribute, clarify and resolve challenges that will support readiness and on-time execution of projects.
- Maintain accurate project information including development status, product specifications, costs, MOQs, and key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review, assess product submissions and samples, provide structured feedback and ensure alignment with brand standards, quality expectations and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and support cross-functional alignment on packaging, branding, and presentation materials for internal reviews and customer meetings, ensuring commercialization readiness.
- Responsible market and competitive research efforts to inform product strategy, feasibility, pricing context and help to validate brand expansion opportunities.
- Analyze and optimize product costs and efficiencies to achieve margin goals for new product development, identifying cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with sourcing and operations partners.
- Own accurate and organized data management across item setup, product information, samples, pricing and ongoing product lifecycle management.
- Act as a primary partner with internal Operations and global Sourcing teams to support product lifecycle development objectives including change management.
- Responsible for cost optimization initiatives on key projects by evaluating product adjustments, alternative materials, process or manufacturing efficiencies in collaboration with vendors, operations and sourcing partners.
- Support the Identification and qualification of new suppliers to expand category capabilities and alternative resources.
- Coordinate with QA and regulatory workflows during new product development and product lifecycle management, including tracking testing, documentation, and compliance milestones in alignment with regulatory guidance.
- Recommend tools, templates, and workflows to continuously improve development, scalability and operational efficiencies.
- Travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in Product Development, Sourcing, or Product Management, preferably within beauty, personal care, or consumer products.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Experience working with private label and/or OEM/ODM suppliers and global manufacturing partners.
- Strong understanding of cost drivers, MOQs, margin targets, and pricing architecture within mass or specialty retail environments.
- Working knowledge of quality, compliance and regulatory requirements for consumer products
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, while executing sound judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and adapt in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.
- Clear, effective communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and all other Microsoft Office 365 tools; experience with Monday.com, Airtable, Canva and other project management and ai tools a plus.
- Passion for the beauty industry, tools, accessories, and product innovation.
- Must have reliable transportation.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
