PACIFIC RUBBER & PACKING INC
San Carlos, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/4/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/3/2026

We’re Hiring: New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer!

Shape the Future of Sealing Technology
At Pacific Rubber, we don’t just deliver seals, we enable innovation. For over four decades, we’ve partnered with industries that define progress: semiconductors, medical, automotive, solar, and consumer electronics. Every product we release is a promise of performance and reliability.

We believe in more than manufacturing. We believe in precision, collaboration, and pushing boundaries. Our culture is built on integrity, respect, and passion; values that guide every decision and every interaction. If you thrive in environments where excellence isn’t optional, you’ll feel right at home here.

Your Role: Own the Launch. Drive the Future.
As an NPI Engineer, you’ll be the architect of our New Product Introduction process. From concept to production, you’ll ensure clarity, accountability, and flawless execution. Your mission: eliminate ambiguity, prevent disruption, and guarantee that every new part is ready for prime time; manufacturable, inspectable, quotable, and executable from day one.

This is a highly cross-functional role. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Service to make sure every detail is locked before release. You’ll also help define and maintain the systems that keep our NPI process disciplined and auditable.

What You’ll Do in Detail:

  • Govern the NPI Process: Define and enforce entry/exit criteria for each phase, ensuring clarity and discipline.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Reviews: Drive accountability by tracking deliverables, deadlines, and action items across multiple teams.
  • Create & Validate Item Data: Own new item and part number creation, ensuring BOMs, routings, inspection requirements, and revision control are accurate before ERP release.
  • Ensure Manufacturing Readiness: Validate tooling, inspection plans, and internal/external capabilities before committing to customer delivery dates.
  • Build Systems of Record: Help define and maintain PLM/MES or structured collaboration tools for traceable, auditable NPI execution.
  • Standardize Excellence: Develop checklists, templates, and readiness scorecards for repeatable success.
  • Identify & Mitigate Risk: Spot gaps early, escalate issues, and drive resolution before release.
  • Post-Launch Reviews: Capture lessons learned and continuously improve the NPI process.
  • Global Collaboration: Support readiness across multiple sites to ensure consistent execution worldwide.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Every new product launch without ambiguity or disruption.
  • Data integrity is flawless, no surprises downstream.
  • Cross-functional teams trust your leadership and rely on your process discipline.
  • You help Pacific Rubber maintain its reputation for precision and reliability in high-stakes industries.

What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years in NPI, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or operations engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with product release and production readiness.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inspection flows in high-mix environments.
  • ERP expertise: item creation, BOMs, routings, lead times, revision control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent practical experience in NPI and manufacturing environments.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with PLM/MES-driven workflows.
  • Familiarity with FAIRs, control plans, and structured release processes.
  • Background in rubber, elastomers, or precision sealing products.

What We Offer

  • Salary: $85,000–$100,000 per year (based on skills, experience, and business needs)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • 9 paid holidays plus paid time off
  • Work-Life Balance Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Stable, full‑time employment in a safety‑focused, process‑driven environment

At Pacific Rubber, customer experience is engineered intentionally, thoughtfully, and together.

If you’re detail‑driven, customer‑focused, and want to work somewhere your expertise truly matters, we’d love to meet you. Apply today and help seal what matters most.
