Are you an expert in heavy equipment maintenance with a knack for solving mechanical puzzles? We're excited to welcome a full-time permanent Heavy Equipment Mechanic to our team working at the Norfolk Southern Rossville, TN Rail Terminal. This is a recession-proof industry with an essential job offering year-round work.
Position Details:
- Permanent Full-Time Role: Stability and security in a vital industry.
- Hourly Pay: Earn between $65,000 and $75,000 annually with overtime opportunities.
- Competitive Pay Rate: Hourly pay based on your experience.
- Daylight Schedule: Primarily daytime hours with the potential for overtime and occasional night or off-day calls.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in heavy equipment maintenance, with a focus on preventative maintenance.
- Skillset: Extensive knowledge in air, electrical, hydraulic systems, and welding. Diesel experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Problem-Solver: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and assembling machines or mechanical components.
- Inspecting and repairing machines, engines, transmissions, etc.
- Performing thorough preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining our Hostler fleet.
- Assisting managers as needed.
Applicant Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License (No CDL required).
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a 7-year background check and a drug test.
- Pass a Physical Capabilities Test.
- No GED or diploma required.
- Eventually, you will need to provide your own tools (Yearly Tool Allowance offered).
