Position Description Summary
Serve as Owner's representative.
Essential Job Duties For This Position
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Inspects the construction of a wide variety of airport improvements, utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts, permits, environmental documents, agreements for work, and may provide construction inspection support.
- Documents daily progress of the work, prepares monthly progress payment request, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measures and documents job quantities.
- Documentation and information retrieval may require computer literacy skills.
- Construction Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, the ability to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, the public and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
- Conduct inspections for the installation of sanitary sewer systems and stormdrains, including related structures, in accordance with City and County of LosAngeles Standards.
- Oversee the installation of underground wet and dry utilities, working within or forvarious Southern California regional agencies.
- Perform inspections for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal systems,following the specifications set by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of StreetLighting and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
- Ensure compliance with multi-phased, site-specific traffic control plans, with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and routing.
- Collaborate professionally within a large team of inspectors.
- Apply extensive knowledge of City of Los Angeles Standard Plans/Specifications and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
- 5 years or more of experience performing inspection of large scale Public Works type projects
- Proven expertise in the installation and inspection of sewer and storm drainsystems, utility infrastructure, and traffic control measures.
- Strong working knowledge of City of Los Angeles and County of Los AngelesStandards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive field experience and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

- A valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy

- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Higher education level is preferred.
- OSHA 30 (prior to assignment), obtained within the past 4 years.
- No specific technical certification requirement; although any technical certification is preferred such as ICC, etc.
- May assume other duties as required/needed.
- Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
- The position will require the candidate to have the ability to transit to, from, and between project sites.
