Pacific Pros is seeking Roadway Construction Inspector for Roadway Construction Projects to be a representative for Caltrans District 11.Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be local for this position.Region: Escondido, CA (San Diego County)Status: Full-time on-site.Opening: Mid February 2025, ImmediatePosition Description SummaryServe as Owner's representative. Essential Job Duties for this positionThe duties for this position include assisting the Caltrans Resident Engineer in all aspects of field inspection and documentation, including, but are not limited to, the following:Inspection of roadway construction activities, including asphalt paving, concrete flatwork (including ADA curb ramps), drainage improvements, and ramp realignment workInspection of traffic control systems, lane closures, and ramp closures, including coordination with COZEEPEnforcement and documentation of Water Pollution Control Program requirements, including SWPPP BMPsInspection of signing, striping, pavement markings, and roadside featuresCoordination with Caltrans staff, contractors, and subcontractorsPreparation of complete, accurate, and timely daily inspection diaries, quantity measurements, and supporting documentationUploading and maintaining daily diaries in Caltrans ProDMSTracking and documentation of Extra Work, including issuance of Tentative AgreementsPreparation of Q-Sheets and backup documentation for Monthly Pay EstimatesVerification of materials release information (Category 41)Familiarity with labor compliance coordination and certified payroll supportHardware/Software KnowledgeExperience with Microsoft Office Suite software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience with Adobe Acrobat.Required QualificationsEITHER Two (2) years of education equivalent to completion of a curriculum beyond the 12th grade in either: Engineering (including coursework in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and physics, chemistry, or a comparable physical science), or Surveying (including coursework in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer science) OR One (1) year in the California state service performing duties comparable to those of a Junior Engineering Technician, Range B AND A documented minimum four (4) years of demonstrated experience in roadway construction inspection of highways or major public works projects performing duties consistent with this Contract.4 years or more of experience performing inspection of Caltrans roadway construction projects (or similar agencies)Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive field experience and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.US Employment Authorization without needing sponsorshipSee Education/Training requirementsExcellent written and oral communication skillsA valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle PolicyProficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files)3 References from ClientsPreferred Experience:Prior experience with night work, extended lane closures, and ramp closuresPrior documented experience with ADA Ramps, MGS, StripingFamiliarity with working under COZEEP coordinationNorth County San Diego residency or familiarity with the project area (preferred for response time and efficiency)Minimum Education/TrainingHigh school diploma (or equivalent)Higher education level is preferred.
