LANDSCAPE DESIGNER SALES REPRESENTATIVE

$100K to $150K (base salary and commissions)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Join our growing team at Pacific Outdoor Living, based in Los Angeles, California as a Landscape Designer Sales Representative. The purpose of this role is to attentively listen to homeowners' ideas and educate them on both our company and the best solution to the problem they are wanting to solve, while appealing to their aesthetic preferences and functional requirements.

This position is a hybrid of design knowledge and sales ability. The ideal candidate must understand landscape construction, be comfortable reading blueprints and site plans, and be capable of developing or collaborating on professional landscape design drafts.

This individual will work closely with our design and technical team, so must be a likeable and group-oriented individual who applies a teamwork approach to getting sales in the door.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:

· Attain or exceed the minimum sales target of $50,000 weekly by successfully closing 1–2 projects.
· Take precise measurements of each site and create accurate estimates.
· Read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, irrigation plans, and construction drawings.
· Develop or collaborate on landscape design drafts, layouts, and conceptual plans (hand-drawn or software-based).
· Understand irrigation systems, plant selection, hardscape materials, and construction feasibility to ensure designs are both beautiful and buildable.
· Present the estimate and design in person and be willing to do what it takes to close each sale, ideally on the second visit.
· Follow up promptly with potential clients to provide additional information and move them toward decision-making.
· Maintain a high customer satisfaction rate by ensuring clear communication, setting realistic expectations, and delivering on promises.
· Stay informed about trends in outdoor living and incorporate innovation into your sales strategy.
· Participate in weekly sales meetings and professional development training.

CAPABILITIES:

· Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints.
· Ability to create landscape design drafts and layout drawings (hand-drawn or software-based).
· Strong understanding of plant materials, irrigation systems, pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor construction principles.
· Strong communication skills to connect with clients and articulate value.
· High level of precision and attention to detail in measuring and estimating.
· Drive and creativity to close sales effectively.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
· Adaptability and solution-focused thinking.
· Desire to grow into a leadership or management role within the company.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· GED or high school diploma preferred.
· Strong background in landscape construction, hardscape, planting, irrigation, or home improvement.
· Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings required.
· Ability to create landscape design drafts and layout drawings (hand-drawn or software-based). AutoCAD or similar software is preferred but not required.
· Sales experience is highly advantageous but not required. A willingness to learn and improve sales techniques is essential. Candidates without sales experience must demonstrate success in a client-facing role.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to travel to residential sites for consultations and assessments, including navigating outdoor and uneven terrain.
· Prolonged periods of driving within the service area.
· Frequent use of computer, tablet, or smartphone for communication and estimates.
· Ability to take precise measurements and demonstrate materials.
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (sample materials and tools).
· Clean driving record.
· Availability to work Saturdays and some weekday evenings to accommodate homeowners.
