What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Pacific Manufacturing Tennessee?
Support PMT in achieving Safety, Quality and Efficiency. Understand and interpret all steps of in-process part verification. Study inspection sheets and maintain record keeping of inspection results. Conducting inspections in press, weld or other areas as needed.
· Ability to understand the use of all checking fixtures
· Ability to understand the use of instrumentation for part inspection
· Conduct in-process inspection in all press areas
· Conduct in-process inspection in all welding areas
· Conduct inspections in shipping area as needed
· Part quality judgment and recordkeeping
· Review and request revision to the inspection instructions (i.e. Sample Data Sheets, work instructions, procedures, etc)
· Assist with special inspection projects as requested
· Participate in on-site audits in all areas
· Participate in HVPT inspections
· Participate in 5S activities
· Conform to all company and OSHA safety requirements
· Follow all tasks in a quality and detail-oriented manner
· High school diploma or GED
· Microsoft Excel computer skills at an intermediate or better level
· Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions
· Ability to understand how to conduct inspection in all areas of production
· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with a quality focus preferred
· Inspection instrumentation experience preferred
· Ability to use hand tools for destructing parts
· Ability to adapt to unplanned activities (to meet customer expectations)
· Strong organizational skills
· Willingness to cooperate and work in a strong team environment
· Follow proper lifting technique
· Ability to lift 35lbs.
· Moderate physical effort is required to move containers if necessary
· Ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist
· Ability to operate in repetitiously if necessary
· Ability to wear all required PPE
· Must be able to wear a face mask directed in the guidelines by the CDC, State and County guidelines and Company Policy.
· Exposure to heat or cold at times on plant floor
· Exposure to processing oils, weld sparks, and other chemicals
· Exposure to high noise levels in the press area
· Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hat or bump caps are required at all times
o On plant floor areas except press area must wear hat
o Press area must wear bump cap
· Kevlar sleeves and gloves are required when handling metal pieces
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
