What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler-Tugger Cart Exchange- Night Shift position at Pacific Manufacturing Tennessee?
The placing in & removing items from inventory, and restocking in order to support production. Additional responsibilities include: delivering parts, materials and supplies to the proper production area, and removing finished product from the line in a timely manner.
· Performance of all tasks in a manner which constantly meets or exceeds Standard Performance Levels.
· Adheres to all Pacific Manufacturing policies, procedures and standards.
· Actively participates/supports the company’s 5S program.
· Removes finished product and excess parts from the production area, and places them in proper PC store location.
· Stocks/re-stocks parts, carts, and containers for production.
· Deliver and pick up parts to and from production and stocks in proper PC store location. Verifies quality, accuracy, and inspects for damage.
· Operates the following equipment in a safe and proper manner: tugger, fork lift, scanner, shrink wrapper, and various pieces of packing equipment.
· Supports the stocking of the production area to the proper level of parts, products, packaging, and raw materials to ensure effective operations.
· Performs basic inspection and maintenance on equipment – tuggers, carts, and lift trucks.
· Provides training, leadership and guidance to new/less experienced Material Handlers.
· Maintains equipment, tools, and work area in a clean and professional manner.
· Maintains the proper documentation and record keeping.
· Willingly performs any other duties that may be requested or assigned.
· H.S. Diploma or GED.
· Excellent attendance.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrate and cooperate in a Team building environment.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to operate a tugger/forklift.
· Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions.
· Quality and detail oriented.
· Willingness to stay until tasks are complete.
· Ability to lift 35lbs. (totes), and up to 60lbs. (propane tanks), with reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to distinguish between colors.
· Ability to work overtime as needed, up to 12 hours.
· Ability to walk, stoop, carry materials, push material racks/carts, kneel, bend at waist, twist at waist and stand on concrete and operate in a repetitive motion.
· Must be able to wear a face mask directed in the guidelines by the CDC, State and County guidelines and Company Policy.
· Inside and outside conditions based on task.
· Exposed to outside conditions when loading / unloading trucks.
· Must wear hearing protection as some areas have a high level of noise.
· Must wear all PPE on the production floor- Safety glasses, steel toes, Kevlar sleeves, Kevlar gloves and bump cap where required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
