Maintenance Technician floors

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our commercial spaces. Duties

• Perform comprehensive floor care, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a spotless appearance.
• Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to remove stains and dirt buildup.
• Utilize environmentally friendly cleaning products to promote sustainability while ensuring effective sanitation.
• Maintain janitorial supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working order for daily use.
• Follow established safety procedures during cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist with general custodial tasks such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and surface cleaning as needed.
• Document completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
• Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.
• Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures for various tasks.
• Cleans and waxes floors using industrial-size mops and/or machines.
• Strips and polishes floors using buffing machines.
• Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Sweeps sidewalks, porches, and tiled surfaces.

Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.

• Reports needs for minor building or equipment repair to supervisor.
• Replaces light bulbs and/or reports safety hazards to supervisor.
• Folds and issues clothing and linen when assigned.
• Cuts grass, trims shrubs, waters plants, and performs other related duties on the grounds when assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial services, preferably within commercial or environmental services settings.
• Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning methods.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, and vacuums safely and effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report concerns clearly.
• Prior experience in commercial cleaning or environmental services is highly desirable. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.90 - $19.90 per hour
