What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Pacific Historic Parks?
Job purpose:
Receive all incoming merchandise to the warehouse. Verify accuracy of the invoices, report any discrepancies, and enter all items into Counterpoint. Sort and place merchandise in appropriate areas of the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives incoming inventory items and logs items into SQL system. Submits completed invoices on a timely manner.
- Sorts and places inventory on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Labels inventory with identifying information.
- Maintains accurate inventory count.
- Perform monthly (a selected vendor) verification of inventory by comparing printout to physical count of stock. Investigates any discrepancies.
- Operates forklift to unload incoming stock and/or to transport incoming stock into the warehouse.
- Follows all company safety and accident procedures while working in the warehouse or when operating company vehicle and equipment.
- Report any problems or concerns immediately to the Warehouse and Facilities Supervisor
- Evaluates current processes and procedures and recommend changes to the Warehouse and Facilities Manager.
- Occasionally assist with inventory and other special events that may be held outside of traditional worksites and work location
Qualifications:
- Forklift Certification
- Ability to multi-task when handling incoming merchandise;
- Basic math skills and ability to use 10 key calculator.
- Knowledge of POS systems.
- Able to use simple hand tools, hand truck, pallet mover, and forklift.
- Excellent Customer service skills;
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
- Proficient in use of computer applications such as Word and Excel and in using POS system and Counterpoint.
- High School Diploma or GED Required, Associates degree preferred;
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Retail background in sales and inventory. Background having worked in a warehouse environment and having worked inventory procedures.
Working conditions and Physical requirements:
- Most work is performed in the warehouse which is open air and subject to prevailing
weather conditions. Office work is performed in an air-conditioned setting.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 65 pounds.
- Must be able to move loads over 100 pounds.
- Must be able to lift by forklift loads over 500 pounds and move safely from loading
area to storage.
- Periodically prolonged keyboarding.
