The Market and Federal Compliance team is part of the Compliance Excellence department within Electric Engineering Compliance, where our vision is that together we create a compliance culture in Electric Engineering and Operations that supports and exceeds safety, reliability, customer, and regulator expectations. The Market and Federal Compliance organization provides functional area compliance oversight, support and monitoring for processes, procedures and controls intended to ensure compliance with the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) regulatory requirements, standards, tariffs, and agreements. These compliance areas include:
The Electric Compliance Intern will partner with members of the Market and Federal Compliance team to provide functional area assistance on CAISO Asset Maintenance Review (AMR) activities, FERC T-Line Licensing Pre-Application Document (PAD) review, FERC Wholesale Distribution Tariff (WDT) analysis, and Guidance Documentation. This assistance specifically includes the following:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37

The Electric Compliance Intern will partner with members of the Market and Federal Compliance team to provide functional area assistance on CAISO Asset Maintenance Review (AMR) activities, FERC T-Line Licensing Pre-Application Document (PAD) review, FERC Wholesale Distribution Tariff (WDT) analysis, and Guidance Documentation. This assistance specifically includes the following:
- Supports ongoing continuous improvement efforts
- Provide support for CAISO AMR inquiries and other CAISO AMR deliverables
- Reviews pertinent regulatory requirements pertaining to FERC WDT
- Attends FERC T-Line Licensing meetings to support PAD development and implementation
- Updates internal database records and provides support for offsite recordkeeping

Responsibilities
Under the guidance of Market & Federal Compliance, the intern will:
- Assist with planning, tracking, and maintaining team TIP objectives and milestones.
- Support the organization and maintenance of compliance documentation and SharePoint file structures
- Assist with coordination cross‑team communications by gathering input and status updates from internal stakeholders
- Support the preparation of summaries, trackers, and reports to support leadership updates and decision‑making
- Learn and apply basic project management principles, including scope definition, timeline tracking, and risk identification
- Attends internal meeting working groups to track deliverables
- Support ad hoc coordination and administrative tasks related to compliance initiatives, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Project Management, or a related field at an accredited university
- Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship
- Experience with MS Office 365 applications, including Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate
- Knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance concepts
- Ability to clearly and concisely convey important information in summary form
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple areas of work
Salary : $25 - $35
