Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our medical office, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of the office, coordinating patient appointments, and managing medical records. This role requires an understanding that our main office is located in Poulsbo, and occasional travel between locations may be required.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirm patient visits.
- Maintain accurate patient records and files, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with coding and billing processes, including familiarity with ICD-9 coding.
- Prepare chart prepping and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective communication regarding patient care.
- Perform general office management tasks to support the smooth operation of the medical office.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office management software NextGen/ Nextech is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and medical terminology is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Attention to detail in managing patient files and care plans.
