Pacific Economics Group Research LLC (“PEG”) is a consulting firm that provides statistical research, policy analysis, and expert witness testimony in the field of energy utility economics. Our specialties include statistical research on utility performance, performance-based ratemaking (“PBR”), and other innovations in utility ratemaking. Pathbreaking work for a mix of utilities, regulators, consumer and environmental groups, and government agencies has given us an unusual reputation for objectivity and dedication to improving regulation using economics. The practice is multinational and includes many projects in Canada. Our home offices are located on Capitol Square in Madison, WI.
Due to brisk growth in demand for our services we are seeking an economist with masters- or PhD-level training. Duties may include productivity and other statistical research, database management, report preparation, project management, public speaking, and expert witness testimony. Experience and interest in the fields of production economics, mathematical economics, energy economics, and utility regulation are strongly preferred. Applicants experienced with statistical benchmarking, productivity trend measurement, PBR, and expert witness testimony are strongly preferred. Hours are flexible, and expected office attendance for local employees is typically 3 days per week. There are opportunities to publish. Successful work can lead to rapid advancement.
