Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic Utility Technology Programs supporting electric utility operations and business transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end project execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing technology implementations, and ensuring successful delivery of complex enterprise programs across multiple utility business units.
This role requires strong project management expertise, utility industry knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and experience leading large-scale technology implementations through planning, testing, deployment, and production go-live.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end delivery of utility technology and business transformation programs.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and status reporting.
• Coordinate activities across business, IT, vendor, and operational teams.
• Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Oversee System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment planning, and production readiness activities.
• Facilitate project governance meetings and provide regular updates to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, operational requirements, and technology solutions.
• Drive issue resolution and decision-making across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor delivery performance against program objectives.
• Ensure compliance with project management standards, governance processes, and quality requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams in delivering utility modernization and operational technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 8 years of IT Project Management experience delivering large-scale technology programs.
• Proven experience managing enterprise application, system implementation, integration, or digital transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience in project planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and leadership skills.
• Experience managing distributed teams, vendors, and third-party partners.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the Electric Utility, Energy, Gas, Transmission, or Distribution industry.
• Experience delivering Operational Technology (OT), utility operations, grid modernization, or enterprise technology initiatives.
• Familiarity with utility operations, outage management, control center environments, asset management, or field operations.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience managing programs through SIT, UAT, deployment, and production go-live.
