What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ductless Technical Product Specialist Engineer position at Pacific Coast Trane?
Pacific Coast Trane in the San Francisco Bay Area has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Technical Product Specialist Engineer. In this position you will be working closely with our contractor customers and internal service fulfillment team to ensure proper installation and startup. You will also be providing sales support in the application of Trane VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow systems) and Ductless HVAC products.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in VRF/Ductless post-sales product success.
- Monitor and measure processes to ensure efficient delivery of post-sales ductless activities, including but not limited to startup and warranty administration, in order to meet customer needs.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, advising corrective action, and communicating with customers, and co-workers.
- Provide commercial and high-level technical product sales training to district office personnel and customers as required.
- Conduct field training of customers, installation and troubleshooting of VRF and Ductless products.
- Able to troubleshoot VRF and Ductless products.
- Assist customers in the startup and commissioning of VRF and ductless products.
- Build consultative relationships and trust with owners and contracting customers.
- Support district office performance by coaching sales personnel in competent VRF product sales, application, and customer support.
- Administration of warranty process and all post-sales activity for ductless business.
- Participate in Mitsubishi DSG program as a representative for your district/territory.
- Travel locally required in the Bay Area to job sites, customers and company locations. Some out of town travel for training classes or various meetings and factory visits as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology with a minimum of three years’ experience in the application, selection, and/or installation of VRF systems; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.
- PAC Experience, RTU Start-Up/Check-Out/maintenance.
- Mitsubishi VRF start-up and check-out preferred.
- Must be able to travel throughout assigned territory.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: NO DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 5 years.
- Currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
