General Description:
Under general direction, this position organizes, coordinates, and supervises team efficiency by managing the day-to-day sanitation workflow. Must possess a positive outlook, work efficiently and effectively, have a team-oriented approach to time-sensitive situations, and contribute to maintaining a positive work environment. Duties include the ability to lead a group of people toward a common goal successfully.
Responsibilities:
- · Assess workload, assign, prioritize, delegate, and guide a team through daily work activities.
- · Evaluate the work of team members and make recommendations for changes in positions as needed to meet the workload's demands.
- · Monitor employee attendance, performance and productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- · Responsible for the safety of the employees and ensuring that all safety guidelines are met and followed.
- · Follow all quality standards, Implement corporate sanitation policies and procedures.
- · Knowledge of equipment, materials, and chemicals. Follow food safety procedures.
- · Maintain and enforce safety standards, PPE, and practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Possess a good eye for detail.
- · Provide leadership and promote company values of Safety, Quality, Service & Integrity.
- · Make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and policies. Restocking and placing orders for supplies for Sanitation.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- · Pallet jack and forklift experience preferred.
- · Team-oriented, with the ability to look at what is best for the company when making decisions.
- · Excellent problem-solving abilities, specifically in meeting deadlines and coordinating/communicating with other departments.
- · Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write in English.
- · Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with individuals at all levels of the company. Implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- · Good attention to detail and understanding of the structure and operation of the Prepared Foods and King Harvest departments.
- · Knowledge of Lock Out - Tag Out procedures. Chemical testing, Surface Testing, Types of Chemicals and what they are used for in a 3-step process.
- · Mechanically Inclined.
- · Knowledge of OSHA.
- · A high-level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
Education and Work Experience:
- · Minimum 2 years of experience in Sanitation and a minimum of 1 year of experience supervising at least eight to ten employees.
- · Bilingual – English/Spanish or another native language preferred.
- · High school diploma or equivalent. 6 months experience in Windows Word and Excel.
Environmental Conditions:
The position works continuously in a refrigerated warehouse (~36° F) and position is contained within the Prepared Foods production facility. The position requires frequent movements. This is a working supervisor position; therefore, approximately 90% of the time is spent working and or walking in the production plant. Much of the office time can be spent alone towards the end of the shift.
