Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate single-needle and/or side-seam sewing machines to sew lightweight cotton fabrics with accuracy, consistency, and speed. Duties may vary based on machine assignment and department needs.
This position requires strong teamwork, clear communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety. Sewing Machine Operators play a key role in meeting customer expectations and maintaining the quality of our products. After completing initial training, you will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision and may occasionally assist other departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate sewing machines to sew lightweight cotton fabrics according to specifications
- Maintain accuracy, speed, and consistency to meet production goals
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Inspect work for quality and ensure products meet standards
- Communicate with team members to support workflow
- Assist in other areas as needed to support production requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Good manual dexterity
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
- Knowledge of proper sewing techniques and sewing machine components
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, write, and follow directions
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands
- Primarily seated work with repetitive grasping, sewing, and hand movements
- Occasional twisting, stooping, walking, and reaching
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 20 lbs
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
