JOB DETAILS:
LOCATION: Pacific Cancer Care - 5 Harris Ct, Ste 201, Monterey, CA 93940
SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10-Hour Shifts (4/10/40 AWS)
SALARY RANGE: $57.12 to $80.00 per hr
REPORTS TO: Lab Supervisor/Director of Clinical Operations
START DATE: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures and analysis in Hematology, Chemistry and Clinical immunoassays, to provide accurate data for diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of medical conditions. The clinical laboratory scientist will work closely with the Clinical Manager, Technical Consultant and Laboratory Director to perform waived and moderate complexity testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Licensure as CLS in California
1-5 years of experience working in laboratory
Experience with maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of laboratory analyzers/equipment; including the Horiba ABX Pentra XL 80, Roche Cobas c311, and Roche Cobas e411 preferred.
Experience with laboratory QC and QA preferred.
Ability to recognize/report abnormal laboratory results.
Leadership experience preferred.
Computer skills and typing required.
Demonstrated excellent people skills, verbal skills and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
Ability to provide supervision of phlebotomy and laboratory assistant staff

PHYSICAL FACTORS:
The physical abilities required of this position may include the following:
- Vision sufficient to read handwritten, typed and computer documents throughout the shift
- Speech and hearing sufficient to receive and communicate detailed information clearly by phone and in person
- Motor skills sufficient to handle, use or operate computer terminal, fax machine, copier, telephone, needles, pipetting
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use a variety of handheld tools and to manipulate single sheets of paper and/or file materials
- Physical ability to reach, lift, and bend to retrieve and/or file materials
- Physical ability to sit, stand or otherwise remain stationary at work post for long periods of time
- Physical ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
- Physical ability to walk up and down one flight of stairs and between patient and departments throughout the day.
