At Pacific Bay Christian School (PacBay), we believe history is more than content coverage. It cultivates moral imagination, civic responsibility, and thoughtful engagement with the past in order to live wisely in the present.
We seek a full-time High School History Teacher who believes history is an act of formation.

Comments and Other Information
Who We Are:
PacBay is a Christ-centered, college-preparatory middle and high school committed to raising a new generation of courageous, thoughtful, and faithful leaders.
Our culture is defined by three words: Ambitious. Joyful. Engaged.
- Ambitious in the pursuit of excellence.
- Joyful in learning and life together.
- Engaged with ideas, with one another, and with the world beyond our campus.
We are intentionally small and deeply relational. Students here are known and cared for as whole persons. Academic rigor and character formation are woven together.
Our graduates attend leading universities and move into their next chapters grounded in faith, intellectual confidence, and a commitment to serve.
Professional Growth and Faculty Culture:
As a small and mission-driven school, PacBay values thoughtful collaboration and continuous growth, especially for early-career educators who are developing their craft.
Teachers work closely across disciplines, receive mentorship from experienced colleagues, and have meaningful opportunities to shape curriculum and classroom culture. Because of our size, faculty are trusted with meaningful responsibilities and real voice early in their careers.
We invest in professional development that strengthens instructional excellence, intellectual depth, and faith-informed leadership. At PacBay, teachers are invited to grow, contribute, and help build something enduring.
Faith & Mission Alignment:
PacBay is rooted in the historic Christian faith. Candidates must personally profess faith in Jesus Christ and actively participate in a historic Christian tradition (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Anglican/Episcopal, or similar).
Faculty model a thoughtful, lived faith — intellectually serious, historically aware, and gracious in posture — while supporting our Christ-centered mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in History or related field (CA Credential or Master’s preferred)
- Experience teaching high school history and/ or other courses in the humanities (AP experience a plus)
- Strong background in historical scholarship and writing instruction
- Excellent communication and relational skill
- Commitment to Christian education
If you are energized by deep inquiry, meaningful dialogue, and Christ-centered formation, we would love to hear from you.
