Yes? Then we want you on our team! Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE) is a non-public school seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for an exciting full-time position. This role is at our K-12 School with campuses in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara, CA serving students with autism.

Essential Functions Include

  • Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) in conducting student screenings and/or assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearing.
  • Implement treatment plans or protocols as directed by SLP
  • Assist SLP in the remediation or development of speech and language skills, including the use of AAC devices
  • Collect and compile data to document students' performance and/or assess program quality
  • Assist with administrative duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities. Perform checks and maintenance of speech aids, AAC devices, equipment, as needed
  • Support the SLP in research projects and in-service trainings.
  • Manage time efficiently, follow schedule
  • Exhibit compliance with regulations and job responsibilities

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must have a current SLP-A license in California
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of students and staff including a multidisciplinary team
  • Thrive in a flexible, dynamic work environment
  • Completed course work and training specific to speech-language pathology assistant job responsibilities at an ASHA accredited program.
  • Completed field work under the supervision of an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Ability to demonstrate the skills necessary for fulfilling the job responsibilities of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred

Physical Requirements: The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant must be able to comply and adhere to the following physical requirements:

  • Pushing, Pulling and Lifting – The individual must be able to lift and or push at least 45lbs. with assistance in order to carry necessary presentation materials or specialized equipment to external sites on occasion.
  • Student Behavior Management – The SLP-A must be able to properly demonstrate and implement behavior management techniques when needed. This training is provided to all staff.
  • Office Work – This position requires that the SLP-A be able to conduct a variety of office work including typing on a computer.

Salary Description

$30.00-$45.00 per hour
