Role Description
Contractor on-site role for a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Operator based in Stanton, CA. The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts to meet aerospace industry standards. Daily tasks include performing precision machining operations, conducting quality checks, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and ensuring that all equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery handling
- Experience with Milling and Machining techniques
- Knowledge of Quality Control processes to ensure precision and adherence to standards
- Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality production standards
- Prior experience in the aerospace industry is advantageous
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in CNC operation are preferred
What You’ll Do
- Reading and interpreting technical blueprints.
- Set-up/operation of CNC multi-axis milling and multi-axis turning machines.
- Setup various work holding and fixture methods according to a setup sheet.
- Run and prove out new programs.
- Troubleshoot issues and make minor adjustments during the manufacturing process.
- Perform quality control both during and at completion of the manufacturing process.
- Help clean and maintain CNC equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 15 years experience as a machine setup/operator.
- Clear understanding of G and M code.
- Intermediate level of familiarity with multi-axis and 3D machining.
- Experience with Haas controls, Fanuc16 & 31M, Siemens 840 Heidenheim
- Intermediate level of familiarity with various alloys, metals, plastics, etc.
- Intermediate level of tooling and fixture experience.
- Intermediate level of GD&T knowledge.
- Ability to take ownership of set-up and operation process from start to finish.
- Ability to adapt between R&D and short production.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
- Must pass ITAR Citizen requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 & 5-axis simultaneous set-up and operation experience.
Pay: $26.00 - $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
