Job Description
McNally Enterprises Incorporated is a full-service production company located in the heart of Southern California. We provide production services for over 300 events each year on a local, national, and international level. As a full-service production company, we integrate and utilize our skills in five production disciplines — scenic, staging, audio, video, and lighting — to provide a seamless and well-executed production experience in all that we do.
Our production capabilities are well known throughout the industry, providing support for events such as the Grammy Awards, WIF Awards, E3 Convention, Comic-Con, the ESPY Awards, and hundreds of other events both large and small.
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Operator / Fabrication Technician with a background in woodworking and fabrication applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a Shop Sabre IS-510 Industrial Router, a strong understanding of CNC programming and fabrication workflows, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Applicants must be familiar with fabrication and woodworking applications, including working with materials commonly used in scenic fabrication, custom builds, signage, and production environments.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work while collaborating effectively with other departments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Operating and maintaining a Shop Sabre IS-510 Industrial Router for fabrication and woodworking applications.
- Interpreting technical blueprints, mechanical drawings, and design models.
- Programming and manipulating vector line files for smooth cutting paths.
- Using VCarve Pro or similar CAD/CAM and CNC operation software.
- Preparing and loading raw materials and parts onto machines.
- Manipulating, cutting, and forming raw materials according to work orders and client specifications.
- Conducting routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Working closely with fabrication, scenic, and print departments to ensure all production deadlines are met.
- Maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Assisting other departments when needed.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Performing other duties as assigned by MEI staff.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CNC programming and machine operation experience.
- Experience operating CNC routers, specifically a Shop Sabre IS-510 Industrial Router, preferred.
- Familiarity with fabrication and woodworking applications is required.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming workflows.
- Experience with scenic fabrication, custom fabrication, cabinetry, millwork, or related woodworking applications preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and strong team-oriented mindset.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to commute to Buena Park, CA 90621.
