Position Overview: We are seeking a Validation Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Richmond. This role is essential for ensuring that our manufacturing systems, equipment, and processes consistently meet regulatory requirements (FDA/GMP), company standards, and high-quality specifications. You will be responsible for the full validation lifecycle, from raw material handling through final product packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ): Lead and execute Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualifications for all manufacturing equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and packaging lines.
- Process Validation: Validate core manufacturing processes (blending, cutting, rolling, etc.) to ensure consistent quality output.
- Risk & Compliance: Assess risks to product safety and quality; implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for equipment malfunctions or process deviations.
- Documentation: Write, review, and execute validation protocols; maintain rigorous archives for audits and regulatory inspections.
- Change Management: Document and validate any changes in processes or equipment prior to implementation.
- Team Leadership: Guide and managing onshore and offshore teams, providing training on new validated processes and compliance standards.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–7 years of Quality or relevant process experience within a regulated environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, risk assessments, and data analysis.
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of FDA and GMP guidelines, specifically within the Food or Consumer industry.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional, onshore, and offshore teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management and external auditors.
